DENVER – The Denver Dangerous Man Day event will be on February 25, 2012 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Valor Christian High School.
Joel Thomas
The keynote speakers will be Joel Thomas and Leon Wirth.
Joel Thomas is the Missional Communities Pastor at Foothills Community Church in Arvada, CO. He also sits on the board of Heartline Ministries–a ministry to men, women, and children in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Be sure to visit Pastor Joel’s web-based resource for men, www.MenWhoBelieve.com. Bottom line, after 20 years of ministry experience, his greatest success is his marriage and his four beautiful children.
Leon Wirth
Leon Wirth is executive director of Parenting and Youth at Focus on the Family. Leon worked on FOTF’s partnership with the film Courageous, and he previously worked with Dave Dravecky’s ministry now called Endurance. Pray for Leon and his wife Michelle as you read this. They are the parents of eight daughters! One clue to how they do it is that they work hard to be unified and intentional in their discipline, encouragement and in their understanding of each of their girls. Wirth holds degrees from Southwest Baptist University and Wheaton College.
Workshops are being coordinated in the following general categories:
- Fathering – including fathers with youth at home, relationships with older fathers, and our Heavenly Father!
- Courage – it’s not just for cops, firefighters and servicemen. We need it every day!
- Foundations – Hear fresh ways to handle the elements components of the Christian walk.
- Life Stages – Teens leaving home, new husbands and dads, preparing for retirement, we’re planning topics for “your time.”
- Tools – loads of practical stuff you can use!
